Registration & board intent

Postby macfly » Sun Oct 25, 2009 2:54 am

Due to a wall stupid advertising and spam sites that are inundating our membership I will now keep the registrations for the site running through the site admin team to make sure that anyone attempting to log in has genuine interest in our bikes.

All spammers and bots trying to sign on will now be banned by IP.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Software bugs

Postby macfly » Sun Nov 29, 2009 4:49 pm

Please let me know if there are any odd software bugs you come across on the site, as I am still learning this bulletin board architecture.

One of our regulars, Joe Bar, just tried to change his email addy, and somehow the board simply deleted his entire user profile - still trying to get to the bottom of that, but be aware that this phpBB3 set up is not 100% stable as yet.

Many appologies to those who I registered after a bit of a wait, I just figured out that the board doesn't notify me of users awaiting activation - still getting to grips with this software!

Wow, it is so slow round here I'm almost thinking I should give this site up, and close the forum as I'm too busy to ride and no one else is interested enough in creating a dedicated database for our bikes.

If it's useful then that's all I ask, and I'll keep it on the server.
